a hike to stewart falls :

this is my siblings' favorite hike to go on in the mountains by where we live.  it's short and easy, it's beautiful, and there's a waterfall at the end.  i love living in the mountains.  what i longed for most when we were away in austin was the majesty and vastness of the mountains of our provo canyon.  it's so good to be back in utah.

also, the shakes at the sundance deli are the greatest.  we love chocolate and oreo best.

zachary :

here is my husband + best friend.   he is always kind and encouraging, fun and handsome, patient with me and fiercely loyal.  he is extraordinary.  and although he doesn't particularly love having his photo taken, he never turns me down.  i love the way these turned out and am glad i caught his cute personality in a number of them.  can't wait to show these pictures to our kiddos someday.

right now i'm in utah while he is in texas.  it's the longest we've been apart and it's so tough.  being apart for two weeks in not something i'd ever elect to do again.  distance makes the heart grow fonder, but it also makes the heart grow sadder and lonelier and leaves one unfulfilled.  so... don't do it.  there is no greater feeling than being with the one you love and meeting their needs and making them happy.

five unrelated things about z :
- he loves to watch and laugh at fail videos before bed.
- he never misses a day of working out.
- he lived in japan for 2 years and reads/writes/speaks the language fluently.
- he makes the best superfood rice cakes in the world.
- he appeared in an article in the onion as a hunky high school student (the article is so random, but he really was a hunky high school student).

a blissful weekend in april in st. george :

there're probably a few photos i could've left out, but i can't help but laugh when i scroll through this reel.  these are my very best friends in the world: hayley and hunter (thanks @knowledgableidiot for hosting us).  every photo here is pure best-friendship.

after they threw a very cute tea party/bridal shower in honor of my bachelorette-hood, the three of us jumped into jenny and drove down south to warmer weather-- our final road trip at this stage in our lives--  before marriage, mission, travel and school separate us for a year or so.  we stayed with hunter's cousin, mike, who guided us through these narrows.

hayley and hunter are two of the most beautiful and interesting people i've ever known, and for many other reasons than those i am beyond blessed to have them as my best friends.  they have made me laugh the most, been loyal and supportive through and through--even when i've failed to be, and inspire me every day with their capacities to create, explore, and empathize even though we're separated by miles of space.  can't say just how deep the love goes.
